Stay ahead with Co-op’s Early Delivery Program

With seeding season just around the corner, growers are up against the clock and interruptions in fuel supply can cause major delays. Co-op’s Spring Early Delivery Program offers a practical solution, ensuring growers have their fuel ready before the busy season begins and allowing them to focus on their crops while saving time and money.

Spring Early Delivery Program explained

According to Brian Kindt, VP of Energy and Bulk Petroleum at Lake Country Co-op, the Spring Early Delivery Program is designed to help growers prepare for the spring seeding season. “It allows growers to secure their fuel needs early, from January to April, avoiding the rush and price hikes that often occur during seeding season,” Kindt explained.

The program provides access to full summer-grade premium diesel during the off-season, helping beat seasonal rate increases. Additionally, growers can conserve cash flow by deferring payment until later in the season, once seeding is complete. “This flexibility allows growers to focus on other areas of their operation without worrying about fuel supply or financial strain,” added Kindt.

Early Delivery benefits

The benefits of early delivery extend beyond securing fuel supply. As Kindt pointed out, “By taking early delivery options before the season begins, growers can save time and money and reduce stress during the busiest time of year.”

Having fuel on hand means growers can start work as soon as conditions are right without worrying about fuel shortages disrupting their operations. “Every hour counts during seeding, and delays due to fuel shortages can significantly impact a grower’s entire operation,” said Kindt. “Our customers face a lot of uncertainty during the spring season, and having fuel in place eliminates a major layer of stress.”

Lake Country Co-op’s success

“At Lake Country Co-op, we work closely with growers to ensure the program fits their operations,” said Kindt. “This includes flexible timing for fuel orders, deferred billing options that reflect the timing of seeding in different regions, as well as an opportunity to receive equity and cash back from our Co-op.”

Lake Country Co-op’s customers who participated in the Spring Early Delivery Program have found it a game changer during the seeding season. Kindt stated, “Our growers have told us that the early fuel delivery option ensures their fuel is available when needed and helps them avoid delays caused by fuel shortages or price spikes.”
